Celebrity Cruise Question
My MIL/FIL and her sister and BIL are all heading out on a cruise this Sunday on the Celebrity line. My MIL's birthday just passed and her sister's birthday is during the cruise. We were hoping that we could call up and have something for them- something sent to their staterooms, dinner at a specialty restaurant, tickets to a show, something. I don't really know this line at all as I've only cruised on NCL before. I tried looking up info about the ship, but it's sparse. For instance, there's no list of restaurants or shows or "extras" packages like there is on the NCL site, which I know well. So my question is, does anyone have experience with this? Is this possible? And if so, what would you suggest? Please note, they aren't big drinkers so I don't really want to send a bottle of wine/champagne or anything. I'm open to spa ideas, though I doubt they'd do facials or massages or anything.

Re: Celebrity Cruise Question
How much did you want to spend? Would you be able to upgrade their room for them? I'm sure you could arrange for food instead of drinks to be in the room. I'm fairly sure they do large fruit baskets and chocolates. I don't know why you'd want to gift a spa option if they don't seem to enjoy anything a spa has to offer. I'm sure you could also give them a gift of the extra $ you have to pay to go to one of the nicer restaurants on the ship. That would be a big hit i think!! I dont know what it is on celebrity but I heard some are only $20-$25 per person extra and that the food and experience is much nicer than the regular dining hall.

We're willing to spend like $100. Yeah that's what I was thinking- a dinner at a specialty restaurant for the four of them. But my MIL said all the restaurants are included and I can't find anything on their site to tell me either way. I can't upgrade their room since they JUST booked this trip last minute and it's almost completely sold out. I figured they could do manis/pedis at the spa, but they wouldn't do a facial or a massage. I'm fine with a fruit basket for the room, too, but again, nothing is listed on their site so I was just wondering if anyone had experience with what they have to offer, ya know? Rather than call up and go in blind...

Celebrity Cruise Question
My parents did something like this for my HM coming up in October. They purchased a onboard gift card that I then applied to my account. We are able to use it for anything we want... drink packages, excursions, specialty restaurants. This was through Royal Caribbean which owns Celebrity so you should be able to do the same.

Re: Celebrity Cruise Question
With RCCL, I ordered room decorations, and birthday cake with champagne at dinner for DH's 50th while we were on the cruise. I did this all prior to sailing.
eta : we were a group of 12, so I ordered two cakes.

Re: Celebrity Cruise Question
I sent flowers to my MIL's room when she was away for Mother's day last year. The link is a little hard to fine-- Celebrity's website is terrible.
Gifts by Celebrity
And they do have the on board credit option.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the website difficult to navigate. It's just been busy at work so I didn't want to call and get shuffled around to a thousand different people just trying to find out what they offer. You guys are the best!! I'm going to let DH pick what to get them, but I do like the onboard credit option- MIL does love to shop! Thanks again everyone!

Re: Celebrity Cruise Question
Celebrity doesn't have tickets to shows like some lines do. Some cruises have this dance/drink event but it is not on every ship or e Rey sailing.
Which celebrity ship are they going on? There are a few specialty restaurants. Qzine is one, and most have another really nice restaurant that runs about $45pp. Then some of the ships also have an italitian specialty place and the lawn club grill. Then a lesser expensive (was $7 now I think $10pp) bistro on 5 option. Most dine in the main dining room and have one or two special meals, but unlike NCL were it seems many dine in the up charge places. Celebrity has a gift section where you can order stateroom credit, special occasion items. If you think they will use it I would lean towards a credit they can use for dinner or a shore excursion.
If you go onto celebrity's site. Under already booked, you will find gifts by celebrity, and gifts delivered on board. Make sure you tell them before they go you gave them a gift because if it doesn't show they can have guest relations investigate.

Those days are over. The nice ones are now almost $50pp. Bistro on 5 had been 5, but was raised yo $7 and I heard raised again to $10pp.
They do sometimes offer package deals. 3 restaurants for x price or a % off if you go on the first night of the cruise or a night that they are having trouble filling the restaurant.
