bottle good for gassy baby
we're using dr browns but i feel like ds is just sucking down a lot of air. i can hear it going down his belly. he burps, farts and pukes a lot, even chokes sometimes
thinking of trying a new bottle. any suggestions?

Our ped recommended the playtex drop ins because you can push all the air out of the bag before feeding.
I found that they did help somewhat.
That and gas drops/grip water etc.

I was going to say Dr. Brown's are best for no gas. If that si what you are using maybe you need a different flow nipple? What # nipple are you using?

For us Playtex Ventaire were the best bottles for both our children. DS suffered really bad from colic and gas. These made a big difference.

Ventaires or drop ins.
ETA: in my experience with infants, dr Browns aren't any better with gas. The kids I had who used them were the most gassy.

The MAM bottles are great and are anti-colic. I came across them from trial and error with lots of brands that all had something I didn't like -- Dr. Brown's (too many parts to wash), Avent Classic (nipples -- even the slowest one -- let out too much and DD was chocking and wearing half of her bottle from leaking formula out of the corner of her mouth), Avent Natural (she collapsed the nipples from sucking so hard that I had to pull the bottle out of her mouth constantly to pop them back up), Playtex Drop Ins (annoyed me that it was really hard to figure out how much she actually drank because measurements are on the plastic drop in, not the bottle). I tried a MAM bottle and she drank from it perfectly and her gas has decreased. I think infants/newborns are always going to be somewhat gassy from their immature digestive systems, but I love these bottles. They are sold at BRU all the time and occasionally I've seen them at BBB but its been rare. BRU actually had them buy one, get one 50% off last week -- might still be going on!

For us, also, what helped was using the Similac Sensitive for Fussy and Gas.
That and the drops!

I have a friend who used drop-in's and she did it that way.
But, I wanted to mention that my son, using the powder made him very gassy -- everyone is different but with my son he NEEDED the ready-made.
And he also needed the ready-made Similac Sensitive formula.
And the gas drops, like I mentioned above.
He was a gassy boy lol!

I had a bit of a different situation since I ended up using an AR formula which was thicker and hard to mix. I had to give it a whirl in my magic bullet to make it smooth. So for me, no

Yes. This is precisely why I stated "everyone is different".
My good friend Melissa had her son Lucas, who was wonderful on the powder formula - used the drop-in liners, it was great.
When she had her daughter Kyla the poor thing could not take the powder - it made her gassy, it made her spit up, etc. She had to switch to the ready-to-feed and even use a different bottle for her too.
I don't know what will work for the OP but I did want to throw that out there since she did state she is using the powder and having issues -- assuming it is the bottle -- and it may very well be the bottle but since I have experienced an issue with the formula, I wanted to mention that.
OP - you could always try a bottle of RTF, see how it works, and switch back if it does not. And then try the drop-ins and see if that does it. Or vice-versa.

this is where we are at right now:
started with dr. browns and rtf similac: i can hear him swallowing air bubbles most of the time, he vomits, seems uncomfortable etc.
tried playtex ventaire with the rtf: its a larger nipple so he has trouble latching it and its dripping down his mouth and i could still hear hiim swallow air
tried powder today with dr browns and its hit and miss
I'm at a loss

Dr browns is supposed to be the best but I switched bc I hated parts. I used ventaire and will now use drop ins wit # 3.

I thought so. The natural latch ones are the fastest of the slow nipples. Try replacing them with the breast like shape ones. We tested all of the playtex nipples out and the breastlike shape were the slowest and worked the best. We ended up just tossing the natural latch ones.
ETA: we literally tried each one ourselves by filling a bottle with water and drinking from each nipple. Lol
