Fun places to go with a 1 year old?
We finally went to White Post farms and it was awesome!! My DD had a blast riding the pony, the train, going on the slides and seeing the animals.
When she is a bit older I think we will enjoy it even more for the bounce houses and shows etc.. Now with the Summer approaching what are some other fun places that a 1 year old can appreciate? She doesn't walk yet.
I am thinking the LI Aquarium would be fun...Anything else??

Fun places to go with a 1 year old?
My son is 15 months. He loved the Long Island children's museum. He liked the aquarium but I thought the admission price was ridiculous. (He looved the aquarium in Atlantic city which was much more reasonably priced). I'm planning to take him to adventure land with some older cousins. I am also dying to try toddler time at sky zone but it's hard with the hours I work.

Definitely the Children's Museum. I think they're still free at 1 also. Aquarium is nice too.

Does it matter that she can't walka round at the Children's museum? I feel like everything involves her walking.

They have an enclosed toddler area with a lot of different activities. She doesn't need to walk.

Holtsville Ecology Center has a little zoo where she can see the animals, and a playground. Also a nice walking trail if you want to take her in the stroller and walk a bit.

My DD is 18 months and LOVES the Aquarium. My parents go with her all the time! I agree with the LICM its so hands on. I also love the LI Game Farm so much for little ones to see and do.

Local pools or even splish splash. I took DD to the water park at 12 months and she LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely licm - brought dd there 2-3 times before she could walk! Get the museum pass at the wantagh library for it!
Queens zoo is fantastic for kids - small, and has a petting zoo part.
Fish hatchery in cold spring harbor - they get a kick out of the fish all coming up to the surface when you throw the food in

At that age my DD loved adventure land, they have certain rides for her age.
We are members of Tobay Beach and she loved it.
The community pools and parks
Also look into free classes at Gymboree or a music or dance class.

My Gym - locations all over.
On those really hot days it is nice to be in some AC and the activities they do for kids are amazing -- the classes are great and they have different classes for different age groups. My son loves it.
Sprinkler Parks -- google to see if there are any in your area. She can just sit and be misted and trickled with the water and the kids just love it.

There's also a play area at the Aviation Museum for kids. I think it's only $5 to get in.
