For those who frequent BJ's for baby items......
Hi, everyone! I have a 3 week DD and haven't made it out to BJ's yet to scope out prices on baby items. A few questions:
1) Do they sell Similac powder (looking for sensitive formula)? If so, how much does it cost, and how many cans come in a pack?
2) Do they accept those $5 off Similac checks?
3) Has anyone use the Berkeley and Jensen brand powdered formula? It seems like a great price and got great reviews on-line. Any insight?

I can answer #3.
We used the BJ's brand formula from the moment we ran out of the free nursettes we got from the hospital.
It was great.
By law, all formula has to be nutritionally the same.
So no worries on using a generic.
But when DD had to be switched to an AR due to reflux, we started using the Target generic formula- since they make an AR
But if you baby is doing well on regular Similac, then by all means try the BJs and save a ton of money!

Thanks for the info! Didn't know about the laws/regulations for formula -- so basically you're saying that the ingredients for brand name and generic are the same? Do you know if I have to "transition" DD to the BJ's brand? Or once her Similac Sensitive runs out, can I just start making her bottles with the BJ's brand?

Yes, pretty much exactly the same and nutrionally they are exact.
I didn't transition- just switched when we ran out.
It's pretty much the same exact formula.
It will save you a TON over the year that you use formula . It's insane

I didn't use similac or bjs but when I ran out of enfamil, we switched right over to target up & up's version and had no issues. No transition needed.

We used to get the RTF sensitive and used one coupon per bottle (so 8 for a case). It was $42 or $45 but has gone up a bit. I think they do have powder too but that's one coupon/check.

The Berkeley brand as well as any of the BRU/target sensitive brands made DDs worse so we stuck with similar powder or RTF in sensitive.

My kids haven't been on formula in awhile but in answer to #2 and 3, they take the $5 checks and yes I switched them to the BJs brand. No transitioning, when similac finished just made their next bottle with the new formula. We saved so much money by doing this.
