If you suspect seasonal allergies, did you just let them run their course? Give dc allergy medication on your own? Just have a phone convo with your doctor? Or bring them in for a formal evaluation. DD is 2.5 and I'm definitely thinking it's seasonal allergies...

If possible, go see an allergist. They will check to see what she's allergic to and prescribe something. This allergy season is horrible!

I took DS to the PED because he got a really bad heat rash. He definitely has seasonal allergies and he's possibly slightly allergic to our cat. I asked if it was ok to treat with some benadryl when it got really bad and she said it was fine. I only use it once in awhile before bed if it's really bothering him. I haven't taken him to an allergist yet because I'm hoping it will get better soon and I'd rather he not take anything if possible (he's 3). But if this continues I may have no choice. Every day his eyes are killing him from the pollen and he's all stuffed up. This season is the worst!

When I suspected seasonal allergies when my son was 18 months, I took him to the pediatrician to rule out a cold. He advised giving him allegra until the pollen count went down, which worked.

We didn't go to an allergist until I suspected he had a peanut allergy. He was then skin tested for tree pollens, grass, and various foods. In all honesty, if he hadn't had the peanut reaction, I probably wouldn't have taken him to an allergist just for the seasonal allergies. Unless, of course, they were over the top bad.
