2 year old getting pleasure TMI...
My daughter turned 2 in February and is very squirmy in her booster and sometimes car seat. It looks like shes trying to get pleasure from it, but she's not using her hands or anything. She kind of just rubbing herself on the seat. Anyone else have a child do this and how did you get it to stop? She's speech delayed so she won't understand if I told her she can only do it in a private place like I know is sometimes suggested. Tips or advice??

I don't think I would try to stop it. Not at that age, and especially if she wouldn't understand telling her that it's only something to do in private. She doesn't understand that it's "sexual" she just knows it feels good. Is she able to verbalize/express in any way that something feels good? I would try to find out more about why she is doing it.

LOTS of kids do this. It feels good.
Many parents don't even notice.
Private place conversation takes place when they do it much later (like school). LOTS of kids do this in school too.

Agreed! My DD is 4 and just stopped doing this. She did it A LOT. DH would tell her to stop and we don't do that but I kept telling him it's normal she doesn't know what she's doing she just knows that it feels good. Once she started to understand more we'd tell her we only do that in private. I was freaked out at first wondering why she was doing it. I talked to my MIL and some friends about it only to find out it was normal.

It is completely normal.... I can remember my sister (many many MANY years younger than me) touching herself during diaper changes... and I questioned it to my SM, and she said it was totally normal.

at that age i would catch my DS in his crib laying on his belly and "humping" the bed. he would say it makes his penis feel good. technically he's right ;) they need to experience things. its when he tried to do it in public i explained he can only do it in his room. he's 5.5 years now and we haven't had a problem.

And eventually, when you do have the convo just explain that it is totally normal and acceptable to touch herself and be comfortable with her body -- just in private.
I love Dr. Laura Berman's approach with this stuff.
