I need an opinion for a child's birthday party

Not too early. I like getting my kids out early so they are home in time for their naps.

That is too early in my house.

Ditto. I have to be up and dressed early 5 days a week. I like to lounge in pjs and do nothing on weekend mornings.

I try for 11 but I did do 10 once. Everyone came. Imo it's a little odd if a family with young ones isn't up and at em by like 830 or 9. I mean, my kids stay up later and sleep later than any preschoolers I know and they're still up by 830 the latest on the weekend.

As a full time working mom on the weekends we like to wake up leisurely and then I'll often make a proper breakfast. We take our time, also give dd a bath and then I have to shower. So while we are all awake we aren't up and at em. I have the whole day for that and want to enjoy my time without having to rush.

This is us exactly.
We may be up but I hate rushing to get dressed and out. I do that all week. like Leb said...you have the whohe day. We often run errands at like 4 pm on a Saturday.
I loathe schedules.

But I think an argument could easily be made with the opposite timing- like, as a ftwm my time with the kids is somewhat limited, so a birthday party that is 10-12 still leaves me with the whole day to do whatever else we want to do, kwim?

I think it's a great time! As others mentioned, it frees up the rest of the day for family time. We did our sons' parties this year at 10 and 10:30 and it worked out great!

That's a good time. I feel like I'm waiting around if during the morning if the party is in the afternoon.

I get this but even if a party is at 4, you still have to follow a scheduled to get to said party at 4! I completely get the lounging aspect if I have nothing to do, but if we do have something on a calendar I really don't feel it's a big deal to miss a weekend day to lounge around. There's 104 weekend days in a year.

I'd still go. But if I had a choice I'd prefer later for the reasons I listed.

I'd go but DH and I would moan about it behind closed doors. We rush around so much during the week going anywhere early on the weekends is tough.

I think 10 is perfect, gets kids out of the house for a morning activity and back home in time for naps with the whole afternoon free. Maybe it depends on the ages of the kids but I dread parties that start at 1 or 2, messes up naps and then my kids are horrors for the rest of the day. If they were older and didn't nap I prob wouldn't care either way.

I need an opinion for a child's birthday party

I just surveyed all my mom friends recently bc the options for DD's bday party on a Saturday were to either start at 10:30 am or 4:30pm and every one of them preferred morning over mid day.

I personally am not a morning person so until I talked to them was leaning the other way, but it seems like a majority of them would rather still have their Saturday open.

Re: I need an opinion for a child's birthday party

Nope... Not too early. It's a party for your LO. You can't please everyone. The people that you want there will be there to celebrate.
Plus, I agree with others that it gives the rest of the day free.

It would work for me. I am up early anyhow and even if i wasn't it is still fine. Bottom line if people really want to go they will. Do what works for you.

I need an opinion for a child's birthday party

I love early parties. At first I thought I would hate it but it was by far the best time wise we have been to. The worst is the 4ish on a Saturday.

As a working mom I love early parties. A 10:30 party still puts us leaving the house at a reasonable time, and we still have the whole day after nap.
