Southwest Early Bird Check in

Do they atuomatically check in for you with this?
Or do you still have to log on 24 hours before the flight to check in?

They automatically check you in at 36 hours (as opposed to 24 hours for regular check-in).

You can print your boarding passes at any time after 24 hours.

Honestly it depends. Most of the time, I've gotten late A or early B.

The first 15 A spots are reserved for Business Select. It depends on how busy the flight is and how many people also bought EBCI. I think the highest I've ever gotten is B20-ish.

Re: Southwest Early Bird Check in

Thanks . I just really want to make sure I can get seats together because I am flying with my DD.

I really hate Southwest and their lack of assigned seating but we had no choice on this one.

I agree - I hate Southwest too, but they're the only show in town at MacArthur so we end up using them more often than not. I keep hoping another airline would make the move to Islip, but it doesn't seem to be happening.

I would LOVE if Jet Blue came there!

Last time I did Southwest they let families board after the A's but before the B's so you should be ok even if you get a B.
I gladly make the trek to JFK for JetBlue but my parents took us all away last year and booked us on SW. Wasn't AS BAD as I imagined but still anxiety provoking! Chat Icon

Not sure how old your child is but 4 and under can go under the family boarding which is between A and B

early bird is much better than family boarding - just so you know! Totally worth it to pay the extra money

I did, both to Orlando and back home to NY. Early "A" boarding too, like position 15-20. Chat Icon
