Help! Cybex Aton 2 or Chico KeyFit 30?
[Posted on Pregnancy board a few days ago, but got no responses, so maybe it's a better post for this board. TIA!]
I have been driving myself nuts with which car seat to get. At first it was the Chico Keyfit 30 since 3 of my friends have it, and then they all said the length of the canopy stunk and so my 4th friend with new baby said to go with hers (the Graco SnugRider Elite)...
...but then at Buy Buy Baby on Saturday the sales lady really recommended the Cybex Aton 2 since it's got a bunch of great additional safety features and it's nice and light weight, but the canopy is still short. I am currently registered for Cybex... but it's weird-ing my out that no one I know has it.
As for the shorter canopy, a friend recommended (and said she wished she bought sooner while her DD was young) the UppaBaby "Cabana" since unlike a canopy it won't fly up in the wind or trap heat, and protects the baby from bugs but it's mesh so it breathes. There's also a part that zips over the top for rain..
So if the canopy issue is fixed with the UppaBaby Cabana...What do you recommend: Cybex Aton 2 or Chico Keyfit 30?
(The Baby Bargains book I have is from 2013 and doesn't know about the Aton 2 version yet so that's not helpful...)
Really appreciate any thoughts on the Cybex especially since its the one I haven't heard a lot of "real" parents have.

I have the chicco key fit 30 and used the uppa baby bug cover. I liked it and felt like my DS was safe, which was the most important thing to me.

i used the chico keyfit 30 with both my kids
the canopy is a bit small, but there is a recent model with an extended canopy
eta the extended canopy one is the chico keyfit magic

I have the keyfit magic and it's great. the canopy zips open to extend it and expose a mesh panel to let air in. Perfect for warm weather when you actually need the canopy. It also has a weather boot and reversible inserts for cold or hot weather. I've had a winter baby and a spring baby and it's been great for both.

Ah, I didn't know about the Keyfit Magic...interesting! Thanks so much I will look into this one!
