WWYD? Weekend vaca plans *Update with question*

DH and I booked a two night trip to Baltimore Thurs to Sat since the kids are off from school this week. Now they are saying we're supposed to get really bad rain the end of the week.
We can't postpone to another weekend since DS starts soccer and baseball next weekend. That goes till June and we already have sp,e weekends he can't make it to games bc of events we have. I already had them out of school for a few days in March when we went away to Aruba so I don't want to take them out of school.

Do we go and see how the weather is or cancel it and have to reschedule in the summer?

**Updated question**
SO, still debating bc it looks like it's going to rain the entire time we're there plus the Friday we're there is home opener for Orioles, which means busy in the city.
The hotel is so much more the weekend we picked bc it's a busy time and weekend. GOing to be almost $600 for the two nights and not sure if we'll be able to walk around like I wanted to with the kids.

So, here's the question. If we cancel 24 hours before we were thinking DH and I would work Thurs instead of taking off and then take off Friday and do a day trip with the boys. Maybe Crayola Factory, which is about an hour away then take them to the movies to see Home later that night or fun dinner. Saturday go into NYC and go to the Museum of Natural History. This way we still have fun family time without spending a fortune in the rain. We can postpone and go to Baltimore another time. Baltimore is only about 2.5 - 3 hours away anyway.

Thoughts?? Should we stick with going and see? We haven't bought any tickets for anything. Figured we were going to wing it. Aquarium there is a lot and I'm sure there's outside stuff

I would definitely keep your plans and go. The weather prediction can be wrong when you look at the same day forecast, never mind how off it can be when it's several days ahead. Even if it does rain, I'm sure you can find indoor things to do and see.

Re: WWYD? Weekend vaca plans

You can never go by a forecast that far in advance.
It can and will change 100 times.
Even the same day it changes. We were away last summer and the forecast that very morning called for horrible rain. We managed to spend the entire day at the theme park without a drop of rain.
I wouldn't cancel at all

Also, the forecast I am looking at for here in NY is Thursday mostly cloudy, Friday rain, Saturday only a 40% chance of rain and Sunday partly Sunday.
Not sure if you meant the forecast for Baltimore or here, but the weather can be significantly different here vs there anyway

Re: WWYD? Weekend vaca plans

Thanks! I really don't want to cancel, but stinks when DH brought up the idea originally of going Sunday to Tuesday and I said to wait till the end of the week. Didn't want to disappoint his family going away during Passover and wanted something the end of Spring break to look forward to. Figured the weather is beautiful now. LOL!

Ugh!

Ok, we'll keep the plans.

Watched the news this morning on the treadmill (I live right outside of Baltimore) and the weatherwoman (weather gal? weather lady?) described the end of the week as "rainy off and on but not a total washout" if that helps?

BTW - if you do decide to come here, the Orioles home opener is Friday at 3pm so bars/restaurants near the stadium and harbor are going to be CRAZY Chat Icon

Oh no. Thanks for the heads up. Was planning on going to the aquarium in the afternoon and walking around. Any suggestions where to eat for dinner that's good and won't be a mad house?

I think your alternate plan sounds like a good idea. If it was "just" going to be rainy, I might stick with the Baltimore trip, but add in the home opener and the crowds that go with it and I would re-schedule the Baltimore trip for another time.
