magic kindom and fast pass questions

Part 1:

Is there enough to see and do in Magic Kingdom to go two days in a row with a toddler? Part of me is scared we won't be able to enjoy everything in 1 day without rushing but another part of me thinks a second day there might be wasteful and should be spent elsewhere. It's just that magic kingdom has all of the parades/shows/entertainment. I feel like the other parks don't have that special quality to it like magic kingdom?

Part 2:

How does fast pass work, for 2 adults and one non-paying toddler. Is it for the whole family or for each individual ticket? For instance, I want to go on splash mountain which is always a long wait. DD and DH won't go on that. Do I fast pass that for myself so they dont have to be waiting forever for me. I'd rather wait all together. What happens if my DH fast passes somehting like meeting elsa and anna which seems long. Will I not be able to go with them because I didn't fast pass it? I have no idea how any of this works. Please explain.

Re: magic kindom and fast pass questions

Part 1: There is definitely enough to do for 2 days at MK.

Part 2: Each ticketed person must have a FastPass. If your DC is under 3, you don't need a ticket, and therefore, no fastpass is necessary. They will not let anyone who doesn't have a FP wait on the FP line. So, if you want to go with your DH and DC to see Elsa and Anna, you and DH BOTH need fastpasses or you will not be allowed in the line.

You could fast pass splash mountain, and all get in the line together, and they would just not get on the ride, and exit at the boarding station. Ive done this with my son (he is older and likes this, but my DD doesn't). However, they likely won't let your son through the queue if he isn't of height.

another option for like you riding splash mountain when they don't.... you might be able to do the Child Swap. You go up to the fast pass stand at the ride, show them you have DD who is too small to ride it and they will give you a paper ticket and you can go through the fast pass line- and when you're done, DH could ride it while you wait with DD. We did this a lot last February when we went with DS (he was 3)

We are doing 3 days at MK, mostly because we have 2yr old twins and a 5 yr old DD. We'll do as much as we can and then head back to the resort. On one of the days were just doing an evening in MK. We want to be able to get everything done but not get stressed out.

As for fastpass we are going to make full use of the rider swap. This can be a real advantage with the young ones.

You can arrange different fast passes for the members of your traveling party to do different things, if you and DH don't like the same things. At MK I have set up a FP for DH to ride Space Mountain, and a FP for DD & I to ride Peter Pan at the same time. Usually when I do that, DD & I are also able to get on It's a Small World before DH is done with Space and walks over to where we are.

With a toddler, I'd do MK one day and HS one day. HS has all the Disney junior stuff. My kids who were 6 & 3 were overwhelmed by MK and I wouldn't have wanted to do it twice. HS was much less overwhelming for them.

Re: magic kindom and fast pass questions

We are doing 1 full day at mk (with a mid-day break at the hotel), then on th second day enjoying the resort until about 3, and returning to mk then. We will spend a day at each other park as well. I think a day and a half is perfect, though we would be able to fill 2. I like the idea of having a lazy morning and early afternoon at the resort.
