Traditional car seat vs booster combo
We have to get a seat for dh's car for our petite daughter (27 mos., about 24 lbs.). She won't be in it much as my car is the main one we use. She would be forward facing.
I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the car seat/booster combos (ie nautilus, frontier, etc.) versus a regular traditional car seat. The combo seems to make sense from a financial point of view, but do people feel there's enough support when their child is at the smaller end of the weight/age requirement?
ETA: By traditional car seat, I mean a regular convertible (i.e. Britax boulevard, graco my size, chicco next fit, etc. etc. etc.)

Not sure what you mean by a traditional car seat. A combo seat would be a good choice IMO. They'll last at least 6 years, depending on which one you get and will turn into a HBB and LBB which you'll need eventually anyway. If you're child is smaller, she'll just get the full use out of it instead of outgrowing it before it expires.
Recommended combination seats

Awesome, thanks! Did you feel your little ones (on the younger side of the requirements) were safe and comfy in this?

DD is only 12m old and we decided on the Graco 4Ever which is kinda like a super-combo seat (infant, RF, FF, Booster) because we plan on extended rear facing. But I'm a huge car seat safety person and have done a lot of research. If we didn't get an "all in one", I'd probably put DD in a Graco Argos when it came time to forward face. She's on the petite side (25th percentile across the board).

Re: Traditional car seat vs booster combo
We got 2 convertibles as at the time the forever type seats were just coming out. I wish I had one of those.
When ds is old enough for convertible, I will probably give him hers and get the forever seat.
IMO I hate buying more seats,so expensive but of course a necessity.
