Summer day camp recs?
Hey there, we are new to the area (Westbury) and I'm looking into day camps for this summer for my 6 yr old and possibly my 4 yr old. There seems to be so many, I'm overwhelmed! Any recommendations for camps in our area or that will bus to our area? I guess I should say they should be affordable... Some are so $$$.
Thanks!

Summer day camp recs?
Hofstra has a great program. I"m not sure if your 6 year old would be in the Cubs program or the program where you pick what activity they do (depends on when his/her birthday is I believe). If they are in the Cubs program, they are with the same group of kids and counselors all day. They have a morning meeting, free time (crafts/dress up/toys/computers), swim, lunch, and then the afternoon they may have things like a bouncy house, outside games, or go to an activity somewhere else in the camp (visit baseball, soccer, tennis, etc.) If you have any questions, just let me know!

Re: Summer day camp recs?
If busing is important then the cost is higher. I used Big Chief on year they were fairly priced but I only did the half day. They bused there and had to pick up (they don't bus home for the half day program. I looked into Red Robin last year (my older DD went there and it was very good) they had a lot of options full day, half day and they bused for both. There is also Merrick woods (east meadow) and Carousel. (Hicksville).
I've been doing little camps with my DD the past few years. they usually run 9-12 but I have to pick up and drop off. I was just looking at a flyer about St. Bridgets/Our lady of hope camp. Many people commented that it was very good and there kids loved it. They have a half day and full day option. No bus though. Also Holy Family in Hicksville does a camp.
Also Town of Hempstead does camps at the local parks not sure of the ages though.

Do you know where I can get more info on the St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope camp? Can't seem to find it online

Re: Summer day camp recs?
We had a great experience at trinity Lutheran school summer camp in Hicksville. The camp is 8 weeks long. You can choose 2,3,4 or 5 days. And it's from ages 3 and up.
