Speech therapist for stuttering
My ds is almost 4 and is stuttering more and more each day. I handed in paperwork ( to get evaluated by school district) to dr and school but everyone is taking forever. As we wait it's getting so much worse. He is beginning to make behavioral movements like jerking his head and shaking his hand while trying to get the word out. I'm thinking of by passing the school district and getting our own speech therapist for him. An anyone recommend a speech therapist. Do they usually take insurence? Thanks

Speech therapist for stuttering
I am. A speech pathologist and if it was my child I would go with a private speech pathologist who specializes in stuttering. Look at Lee Caggiano. She is great. http://www.stutteringtherapylongisland.com/
