Re: baby boy clothes
For gifts I would do Janie and Jack, Dennys, Gap or any Dept store.
I have two boys and got the most adorable little suits, sweater vests and other "fancy" boy dress clothes. Loved them, but I learned I never dressed them in it. I love cute pants and collar shirts, sunglasses, hats, onsies...
I also loved BBB and BRU outfits.

Re: baby boy clothes
I have found some great options for a boy since I have a boy and I'm a little picky when it comes to outfits. I always like him to look quite dapper. Here ya go... I hope this helps!!
Ralph Lauren
By far, the most quality, the most classic, and just so sharp looking. I love his clothes, but more than anything, I love his looks for baby/toddler boys. My favorite part is everything is all cotton, no blends and no polyester. Love!! For a good deal, I go online and shop the sale OR I ride to Riverhead where they have an entire Ralph store that is JUST baby/kids!!! It is wonderful.
Janie and Jack
They have adorable outfits - very classic, nothing too loud or trendy. Traditional. I like their stuff for an occasion or holiday. To save money, I shop the J&J location at the Deer Park Outlets. They have a whole Janie and Jack store - it's great and so easy to get to!
I also like this website for dressy, holiday, occasion, etc...
http://www.woodensoldier.com/
This one as well...
http://www.shrimpandgritskids.com/
And lastly:
https://www.kellyskids.com/index.asp
A couple of times I have hit a Century 21 up and their baby/toddler boys section is pretty great. I have found some nice Ralph stuff there, some nice Nautica clothing, a few dressy outfits from various brands, etc. Their prices can't be beat. I bought my son a pair of Clarks dress shoes for literally $14 there recently.
Macy's carries Ralph Lauren as well and you can snag some good sales and/or use your coupon.
There's the FAO line through BRU and some of their things, when my son was first born, that I received were adorable.

Re: baby boy clothes
I buy 90% of my son's clothes from Gap or department stores. I buy Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Lucky and Guess for him.
You can also get some great 3 piece outfits at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, etc.
Carters and the like really do not have a good selection of boys clothes, IMO. If I'm looking for play clothes for DS, I will go to Children's Place.
I shop Janie and Jack for nice occasions.

Re: baby boy clothes
I wanted to add that I am obsessed, for spring and summer, with short-alls and bubble outfits, and one-piece cute / John-John boy outfits.
He lived in short-alls over the summer.
SO EASY!
Examples below of my son from last summer (All Ralph Lauren) and CHEAP on sale!!
One pieces with snaps at the bottom for easy-peasy diaper changes!!

Re: baby boy clothes
It depends on style - I dress my boys pretty preppy - so as babies I had alot of Ralph Lauren, Nautica, GAP - Now that they are bigger I shop Old Navy, GAP, OshKosh (for wind pants b/c my boys insist on them) and Vineyard Vines for dressier stuff. I find the stuff an Janie and Jack to be a bit 'babyish'

Re: baby boy clothes
I have always shopped The Gap for DS. I like their styles and while I agree with another poster who stated that they really don't have much for boys, I much prefer it over Carters or Childrens Place.
The only things I like Carters for is their pj's - otherwise, I find their clothes boring and on every other kid.
I also like Zara, HM, Charlie Rocket, Mini Boden and Crewcuts.

I LOVE these - my boys lived in them in the summer - they always look dressed up and adorable, but were basically wearing a glorified onesie so they were comfortable.

There's so much cute boy clothing! Denny's is good for clothes if you don't mind spending the money. L&T also has really cute boy outfits, I was just there a few weeks ago. Century21 has cute clothes for newborns if you don't want to spend quite as much, but still get something different.

I really like carters and for gifts, they really have the best return policy. I know everyone buys carters, but they really have nice things.
I got some beautiful stuff from Janie and jack when DD was born, but I had to give it away, it was the wrong size and they never gave a gift receipt so I couldn't return it

Gap and Janie and Jack are my favorite. Carters had some really cute summer outfits recently. I do very well on the J&J sale rack.

Re: baby boy clothes
TJ Maxx and marshalls often have RL one piece outfits like posted above. My boys also wore them a lot. I like RL and Gap for boys. Carters is ok for some stuff.

Carters, Oshkosh, old navy and target. I refuse to spend a ton on clothes that he grows out of so quickly and will only wear 1-2 times.
