Terrible twos!
Well, we are full-fledged into them, EVERYTHING is a battle, it takes an hour to get her dressed, and I'm seeing a regression in coping skills (she's hitting and scratching me when frustrated, which she hasn't done since early summer). Does anyone have any advice on good books or resources to turn to for some suggestions? I think I need a real solid comprehensive plan for her. There's too many different instances for me to even post on here to ask for advice on!

Terrible twos!
My dd was a dream until literally her exact 2nd bday. It was like a switch flipped. She is constantly testing me and it's really frustrating. one thing I notice is if I ask her to clean something up or do something and she doesn't want to I'll sort of pretend I didn't hear her and immediately start praising her like "you're the best helper ever! Thank you soooo much for helping mommy!" And she'll get really excited and start helping. But it only works sometimes. I feel you on this one.

Re: Terrible twos!
We've recently entered this phase as well. DD is 2.2 and loves doing the opposite of whatever I ask. Someone just game me the book "How Toddlers Thrive" by Tovah Klein. I'll let you know how it is once I start reading it.

Re: Terrible twos!
Everything is NO. no. no. NO.
And she wants everything to be different. If I give her one set of pajamas, she wants another set. If I give her choices even, A or B, she will request something not listed, or choose A and then later cry and demand B anyway. It's baffling.
She has also regressed with potty training and in social situations with other kids. Her crying fits have increased.
I have no advice. I just pray it ends soon.

Re: Terrible twos!
I am so glad I'm not alone. I resort to a lot of bribery. Like I know when I get him home from day care we are going to have a fight about something so I go through the list of things with him that we're going to do when we walk in (take off our shoes, feed the dogs, wash our hands, change our clothes) and I tell him if he does all that and listens to mommy he can have xyz - usually goldfish, he'll do anything for goldfish. It doesn't always work. It also helps to give him a time warning, like if he's playing in his room and he has to go to bed I'll say it's 5 minutes until bed time, or 5 more minutes of tv until dinner and then he usually won't be as upset when we switch up the activity.

Re: Terrible twos!
I'm dreading this. Less than 5 months to go! I'm hoping it's not that bad because she's actually been pretty difficult since she turned one. I'm finding one to two extremely hard.
No advice, just hang in there!

Re: Terrible twos!
DS started his terrible 2s around 18 months. I expect it to last until he's 4.
I just think that it will pass and do the best I can!
