EM Moms - budget meeting?
Is anyone else going to the budget meeting tomorrow (3/5)? Kindergarten is supposed to be on the agenda. I hope this initiative passes!

At the last meeting they said they would let the community vote to see if full day k should pass. I hope those without kids don't ruin it for everyone else!
I'm part of the fb group but gave up social media for lent lol. Any other updates?

None yet - they haven't set a new date for the meeting, and there's no official date for the actual vote on Kindergarten.
What people need to realize is that this affects them whether or not they have school-age children. Property values matter to everybody, and an SD's reputation can make or break a sale.

I agree with you 110%!! This isn't just about money anymore. They used to give the excuse that our kids still surpass other kids testing wise so full day wasn't necessary. But now with common core we could see our kids fall behind other districts and that will bring down our district rep for being good. Which of course will bring down property values. All residents need to be concerned not just those with kids.
