How is bus transporation at Arts of Animation?
DH has a work thing and I will be flying down with the boys solo to Orlando first.
How are the buses to/from Arts of Animation?
I am most interested in getting to Downtown Disney. Not sure if it is better just taking cabs.
DH will be renting a car when he flies in 2 days later. I do not want to mess with carrying 2 car seats, our luggage and stroller while flying by myself.

The buses to the parks were fine for us when we stayed last year. Downtown disney tends to be a nightmare from any hotel by bus. You just need to allow a lot of extra time because they don't come as frequently as park buses.

We didn't use the bus while we stayed there, but the lines were hundreds long. Downtown Disney doesn't tend to be a chaotic line no matter where you go though. You are going Spring Break though, so all bets are off

I was planning to do a leisurely trip to Downtown Disney on the full day that I will be there solo with the boys.
You are making me think that I may be better off just staying at the resort.

2 trips ago, we stayed at Disney Dolphin on points with no car. The Downtown Disney bus was shared by Boardwalk and Beach Club. It felt like it took an hour just to go to all the resorts first before actually heading to Downtown Disney.
I thought the AOA bus did not share with any other resorts and hoping it would be more efficnent with time.

Usually the wait for buses to and from downtown Disney is long. However, if you are planning on going during the day and leaving around dinner time, they shouldn't be crowded at all. Downtown disney around lunchtime is a very different experience than the craziness at night.

When we stayed at AoA there was no bus sharing - but there was only one stop for the entire resort, so unless you are staying in a suite, it's quite the walk. We didn't spend any time at downtown that visit, so I can't speak specifically to the length of the ride, but I don't recall seeing buses for downtown that often while waiting for others.

The ride itself isn't so much the problem, but the wait for a bus can be super long. Really just depends on the day and the time of day. Since you're planning on spending most of the day there and don't have anywhere else to be I wouldn't worry about it too much.
