Dining plan for disney?

Is it worth it? Is it recommended? We were thinking about doing the deluxe dining plan.

I only think it's worth it if it's "free" - since we do a lot of character dining. I would recommend looking at the menus of the restaurants you want to go to and price it out. And see if it's worth the plan or better to just pay OOP.

Also, the deluxe dining is A LOT of food. I thought of doing this but it was too much food for my family. We didn't need to do breakfast, lunch, dinner sit downs each day.

It's a LOT of food. I don't know if you really save a ton of money.

DH and I usually do it because we like paying for everything in advance. Also, we like to eat at the signature restaurants.

I did a quick 2-day trip down this fall and we didn't do the meal plan. I was shocked how expensive the food was! I guess I don't realize it when we pay in advance.
