BTDB moms

At what age do kids start to actually spend a long time coloring or fully using their coloring books? my dd is 2.5 and she does like scribble scribble and done. scribble scribble and done. When will she get more into the different colors of crayons and try to color the whole coloring book picture and fill in the entire page rather than just a few lines?

At 4, my DD is very into coloring.
Using different colors, staying in the lines, coloring full pictures.
I'd say she started getting more into it at 3-3.5

DD will be 4 soon and is really into coloring, "staying in the line", writing her letters, etc.

Between 3 and 4 years old. What I have found both professionally and personally is that most kids just like access to plain white paper, construction paper, glue sticks, tape, felt, tissue paper, scissors etc... So that they can "create". Actual "coloring books" don't hold their interest. At 2 1/2 I would just provide broke (1 inch) crayons and plain paper. You can also sit together and do simple glue and stick crafts. At 3 years you can start scissor skills. At 3 they can also copy a circle so you can begin simple drawing (draw a smiley face).
