Those who've had 3 (or more) children vaginally...
Was your 3rd child born a lot faster than the others? With my first DD I was labor start to finish for 12hrs. My 2nd DD I was in labor start to finish in 6hrs. I just picture myself having my first contraction with my 3rd and him just falling out a few mins later The hospital is 20-25min away on a good day. So I'm just preparing myself for what could come

Oh that's a good point. I was + for strep B also both times. Will I def be with this one? I'll have to squeeze my legs together as long as I can lol

I was strep B + with my first two and although they said there was a chance I wouldn't be with this pregnancy, I just found I am again. I think it is more likely that you will be again, but you never know. They told me that as soon as I start getting any contractions I should go straight to the hospital - even if they have to send me home - better safe than sorry to have time to get the antibiotics in if it is go time!

If you are Strep B+, you need to have antibiotics during labor to reduce the chances that you or your baby will develop the strep b infection.

This. The baby can get really sick if it's not properly treated during delivery

Re: Those who've had 3 (or more) children vaginally...
I only have two kids, but I was induced with my first 6 days past my due date. I was in active labor probably 6 hours. With DS 2 I went into labor on my own 4 days past my due date. I went I to spontaneous, instant full blown labor. He was born about 4 hours later. It could have been much sooner, but I demanded the epidural from the moment I walked in and they finally gave it to me at 9cm. After being in so much pain, they let me rest before pushing and DS was practically falling out at that point. It probably would have been 3 hours because I was about ready to push. I don't plan on a third, but we joke that I would be delivering in the car if I did, As for strep, I never had it with 1. I tested positive with 2, but then tested negative the week before.

Oh terrific. I keep telling DH I better not go into labor during the morning rush cause I'll never make it in time driving on the LIE lol sometimes it takes me over 40min to get to the OB which is a min away from the hospital itself. Idk why I'm so worried this time

Re: Those who've had 3 (or more) children vaginally...
my 1st was 7 hours.
my 2nd was 4 hours.
Our hospital is 45 minutes away.
My 3rd was born after 5 hours but could have been much sooner. I've always had to have my water broken for me but the doctor had to wait since they were understaffed and someone was going in for a c/section. If he had broken it when i got there, i bet it would have been 2-3 hours.

Those who've had 3 (or more) children vaginally...
From my water breaking to delivery was just over 9 hours with my first. My second was 7 weeks early and was born in about 8 hours from when my contractions started to be noticeable.
My third....well, let's just say my dad (who drove me to the hospital because DH was working and waiting there for us) well, he was VERY happy he drove fast. My water broke about 2:10am and DD2 was born at 3:18am after one push. I was barely in the triage room and wasn't in a bed. It was CRAZY!! If he drove any slower he would have had to deliver her!!

These stories are freaking me out. Maybe I'll just camp outside the hospital starting at 36wk as a precaution lol (my girls were both born at 36w6d)

Re: Those who've had 3 (or more) children vaginally...
Just today I asked my OB if there was any way she'd schedule me for induction before my due date. I live in Suffolk and am delivering in the city......and while DH could easily coordinate a police escort, I'm kind of freaking out.
Thankfully she said we could discuss it in a future appt. We'll see......I don't even know if I was serious in asking.....I think I was just trying to share my anxiety.
(DS 1 was induced 3 days after my due date.....so I don't have history of going into labor on my own)

I never went into labor with #3 or 4. I was past my due date and induced for both. Labor for #2 was very quick though. He was born about 3 hours after contractions started.
