What do I need to know about travelling w/1YO
I had a separate thread on the carseat so I think I'm good with that :) But I wonder what I'm not thinking of. Please share everything/anything that's important to know when travelling (via air/staying at hotel) with a 1YO! TIA!

Bring lots of snacks for the airplane, an iPad with movies or tv shows , some new toys and, most importantly, your patience. Your little one may be great- nap in the stroller, be wide eyed with all the new experiences. Or your DC may be out of whack, cranky, and whiny. Either way, just roll with it. Don't envision the perfect trip, or you will be setting yourself up for disappointment. And be flexible. Plans can change set at drop of a hat. We had times when we put DC down for a late nap and planned on a late dinner. But DC decides to sleep through the night. We ordered pizza.

Bring more snacks that you think your child could possibly consume, keep some toys/games set aside if/when there is a meltdown (for us this is a game or show on our phones, or a new pack of stickers etc), have a change of clothes for them (and a shirt for you) on hand at all time, try to keep organized so you can know where stuff is when you are invariably trying to fish something out of your bag with one hand. Also bring a small bag or ziploc or whatever of your normal items for sickness or daily care (baby comb, nasal aspirator, medicine) as nothing sucks more than driving to 8 different places to find that one thing that your kid needs when they have the sniffles or whatever (I'm talking about you nose frida and your mysterious disappearance in the entire state of Ohio).
It can be a bit stressful, but if you know that there will be bumps or hiccups, you will be able to enjoy it a bit more and just roll with the punches.

Snacks, toys to keep them busy. We always buy a new toy (matchbox car size toy) for the plane. We don't give it to him til we are on the plane. Also, bring their favorite toy.
I tend to fly Jet Blue for the TVs and I also bring my Ipad with Disney shows loaded on it. Don't forget a change of clothes for them just in case and I always have a small blanket on the plane since it can get chilly. I don't worry about bringing the world with me as we mostly travel to places where we can get to the store.
Also, roll with it. Its vacation and schedules will all go back to normal when you get home.....don't make yourself crazy....Its vacation!!!!!

small, cheap travel stroller.
I bought the babies r us brand for 15 bucks with a coupon and it was great! Light as a feather and easy to maneauver everywhere.
Strangely he now prefers this stroller over all other strollers... so my other more expensive strollers are now collecting dust in my garage, lol.

Ship diapers, wipes, disposable bibs and spoons, extra snacks, bottled water via diapers.com or amazon or whatever before you go, so you don't have to lug it all.
Scope out the bathroom on the plane and the facilities to change diapers before you need to do an actual diaper change.
Bring lots of disposable pads for changing diapers and those arm and hammer bags to throw diapers in (my kid pooped so much on the plane and on our days out!)
Know your passenger rights with the car seat. I had a stewardess trying to get me to turn the car seat forward and only because I researched my rights was I able to politely explain my child's rights
Offer the people in front of you a drink or movie on you if they can't recline all the way bc of the car seat
Lots and lots of books, toys, and snacks!
Brought my own pack n play sheets so dd had a familiar sight and smell while in the hotel's pnp.
Have a great time!
