4 month old sleeping on side?

we're desperately trying to get my DS to sleep in the crib. We are also trying to fix his head because its a little flat.

He seems to be more comfortable sleeping on his side in the crib. Plus this would help with the flat head issue. is this ok? I forgot to ask the dr. at our last appt.

he can roll over from back to belly and belly to back.

4 month old sleeping on side?

Ds was sleeping on his side at around 1-2 weeks at home because they put him like that in the nicu. He would roll himself up onto his side. He slowly got out of the habit of doing that, and now stays on his back. But he always has his head on one side - he sleeps in starfish position (arms and legs out - he starts out with his legs swaddled and kicks out of it). I'm sure it's fine.

Definitely ok! My 4 month also sleeps on his side

If he puts himself there then its fine.

If he's rolling, then he'll sleep in whatever position makes him happy.

At that age, I'd put DS on his back and he'd immediately roll onto his side.

as others have said...put him on his back, and he'll get himself comfy.

At 4 months, DS1 was sleeping on his belly. At 2 months, DS2 started sleeping on his side. They make themselves comfortable! I wouldn't worry, especially if LO rolls!
