It's a music/dance class, age 0-3 but all the kids are 1.5 year and up. They are all walking and running around. I'm skeptical of taking my 3 mo. old because it always seems there's a kid sneezing or coughing or runny nose. I know it's the season and the cold weather and all that but I'm wondering if I'm being a nervous Nelly mommy or if being reasonable lol

i wouldn't... can't you find a class made up of other infants? there has to be something where the kids are actually 0-1.5 rather than 1.5 and up

I wouldn't. Not because of colds or germs (those are pretty much everywhere regardless of age), but I would try to find something with other kids that in a similar age bracket.

I took my 11 week old to one of my older dd's classes for the first time recently and it was fine bc she just slept in the car seat the whole time. I think it depends on whether they'll sleep and how crowded it is but you can only stay cooped up so long.

I would and I have. I just put DC in the moby wrap and they slept. 3 months and under is the easiest age IMO.

Now when they get older, like 6-9m, I would not because at that point they start getting into everything.

I did Music Together with both kids last winter when DS1 was 2.5 and DS2 was 4 months. It was fine. DS2 either stayed in the carrier or my lap. He didn't get sick from it. It's a great way to get out of the house and as a pp said, so much easier when the little one can't move yet!

I would. DS is around the germs all the time, he's in daycare, had his first nasty cold after his 1st week there when HE was the one with the runny nose and cough. And he would LOVE to sit and watch everyone. We were at a party the other day where the other kids ranged for 1yr up to 5yo and he was just laying on his boppy on his tummy watching the kids for HOURS. He had so much fun watching and looking. Every once in a while one of them would come up and say hi and they were really good about doing "nice nice" and not being rough with him, and I was right there to make sure no one was able to get rough. I WISH I had the time to take him to classes like that! I think he'd really enjoy it!

I should've been more specific, my DD who is 2 goes and I have the option of taking my little guy or having him stay home. Thanks! I'm putting him in his carrier. He's very alert and I think he would live the music and singing and loves staring at everything and everyone now. If it doesn't go well, I'll leave him home in the future. I was more concerned about germs and him catching something.

I wouldn't, but not because of the germs. I'd try to find something more age appropriate/with other kids the same age. Gymboree, for example, does music classes and their age ranges are much smaller.

I would bring the baby and keep him in a wrap or carrier. You're right, he would probably enjoy the sounds and music.

If the point is to go with your 2yo then yes I would bring him if you thought he would enjoy. If it was a time when he would be napping or not have fun and you had the choice to leave him then I would.
