When did you reduce the amount of times you pumped?

DS is almost 10 months old. Currently at daycare, he really does not drink a lot of milk (2-8 ounces total; usually closer to 6). He is currently eating 3 meals a day and an afternoon snack. He nurses 3-5 times a day during the week (so I am thinking he reverse cycles a bit to make up for missed milk at daycare). On the weekends, he nurses 5-6 times.

During the week, here is my schedule

Pump at 5:30 am - 3-6 ounces depending upon how the night went...

Nurse at 6:15 am

Pump at 9:30-10 am (3-4 ounces)

Pump at 12 pm (2+ ounces)

Nurse at 4

Nurse at 6:30

Lately, he's been nursing at least once at night.

So, my question is can I cut out one of the pumping sessions? At this point, I pump 10-12 ounces a day. I was thinking about continuing to do the am pump and then just pumping at 11:30 am. I figure I can try it for a few days and see how it affects my supply. I would not be starting this routine until DS is 10 months as I am on vacation next week.

I didn't cut my pumping session until he was 1, but I needed to keep up with the amount he waa drinking. It sounds like you can probably cut out the session at 9:30, and just pump at noon (or 11:30) like you suggested.

You might get the combined amount of those two sessions.

I would think you could cut the 930 session, and I'm assuming you'll actually get more at the 12 session

I only pump once a day at work (dd is 7 months) but I can't wait to stop

Thanks! I am most likely cutting out the 9:30 one. It'll make my life easier. Maybe I can finally get to the copy machine!!! :)
