Re: Favorite kids books?
DD is obsessed with this book called "Princess Baby" by Karen Katz. I can't even tell you how many times I've read it, but even she has memorized the entire thing.
We also like all of the Eric Karl books and recently started reading a book called "King Bidgood's in the Bathtub" which has really cool illustrations.

Re: Favorite kids books?
We ask for books as presents instead of toys. We LOVE all the books we have gotten. I have lots of the ones mentioned... but other young favorites include:
- "Pat the Bunny" (this broke from too much use) - "Little blue truck" - "That's when I'm happy": Book has mama and papa bear & was a bargain at Barnes & Nobles. I buy it for everyone.
Now that DS has hit 4, he really loves longer books with elaborate stories. He got a kick out of the crayon book "Day the crayons quit" and we got a dot book that tells you what to do with the book & it makes dots move (he likes to "read" it to his little sister). ETA: That was the "Press here" book someone else recced! They loved it!
He also loves fables like:
Tikitikitembo Stone soup Caps for sale Little red riding hood Ferdinand the Bull The mitten Noah's ark

Re: Favorite kids books?
Wow, thanks everyone. I want to get all of them right now, but we'll have to build little by little.
DD is just about 17 months, but she LOOOOVES books. I'm hoping she maintains this excitement as she gets older.
