2 year old chewing and spitting out food
DD started doing this a couple of weeks ago, and the behavior seems to be worsening. She take a bite, chews, then spits out whatever it is. She goes back for more, and repeats the process over and over. It doesn't matter what it is: meat, crackers, fruit. DH and I are getting concerned.
Has anyone experienced this?

Same thing happened here. She got over it. I still corrected her all the time though while she was doing that though.

No advice but it reminds me of the sex and the city episode where Miranda meets an old friend that lost a lot of weight and he did it by chewing his food and spitting it out lol.

My 1 year old has started doing it with meat, I feel like in his case it might be a texture thing.

My 18 month old does this sometimes usually if the piece is too big and he cant really chew and swallow it fast enough. Lol he does this with liquids also though. He will suck some up the straw and the spit it on the floor! That I think he does because he finds it funny or something.

DS did it for a while. He was just playing. We'd take the food away from him if he did that. If he wanted it back, he had to eat it properly. It only lasted a very short time.

my dd is 2.5yo and doing the same thing. she can be eating a donut ( her fav) and all of a sudden will spit a chunk out and it will land wherever! quite embarrassing when we are with other people or out in public!! she did this in the shopping cart at target once! ugh. I don't know what it is.

This, except it's still happening. He usually only does it now when he's done.
