I'm 32 weeks...
At my hospital class last week she said we shouldn't use baby powder anymore and to use cornstarch, then said Johnson and Johnson has cornstarch. I can only find it with baby powder.
What do you use in baby's diaper? Starting yo stock my nursery.

There are 2 types of baby powder.
Cornstarch and Talcum.
Johnson's does make a cornstarch, you can also get it in the store brands like Target and CVS.
Let me find it.
Here- this is the one you want.
No talcum powder in it.

I've never used powder. We use store brand a&d and occasionally triple paste if they get rashy.

I never used any type of powder - baby, cornstarch, etc. None of it.
Since DS was born I have only used A&D, Balmex, Desitin, etc.
I have never had a problem/issue or need to use powder.
He is 17 months old now.

I never used any kind of powder. I used Boudreaux's Butt Paste on my kids and Triple Paste if they ever got a rash.

Talcum powder is not so great for females.
It has been linked to certain reproductive cancers in females.
I rarely used powder on DD either... on the rare occasion I did I used cornstarch. Same on myself.

The only time I ever use powder at all - even on myself, is I use Gold Bond on my feet in the summer, at the beach, to remove sand.  Comes right off with such ease!

I only use the creams, never use the powder. I do like powder for myself, so that is VERY good to know about the link to reproductive cancers... I always read the reason not to use powders was because of the risk of inhalation issues.

i had to use powder with both of my girls. A very little bit at each time though. They were both very prone to yeast rashes and it was one of the only things that kept them from coming back over and over again. The yeast feeds off any mositure and the powder would help absorb the moisture.

Same for me. Powder was the ONLY thing that kept diaper rashes away. And I tried EVERYTHING else.

Just be careful if you use powder. I know it seems like common sense but keep it out of baby's reach. They can breathe it in and suffocate if it's a big amount.

I'm a powder junkie. Use the cornstarch one on DD since she was born and is now4. Always after bath. Even refresh her when she comes in from playing and is all clammy and sweaty.

When DS gets a diaper rash I like to use plain cornstarch For my kitchen. I put some in a little container and his rash usually goes away pretty quickly.
