Stay at home mom schedule

I'm looking for ideas. I am a SAHM of 2.5 year old triplets and we are in a massive rut this winter. We do gymboree once a week (that alone costs us $219/month). The open gym times don't work well at all for us but we go occasionally a second time each week. We used to do mommy and me but my boys were the oldest ones there and the program seemed geared to 1-2 year olds so after a year of going we have stopped. I am in queens and the library programs suck, for lack of a better word. There is one we occasionally go to, but it's only a half hour long and it takes about 3 time that just to get three kids ready and in the car lol. We go to the children's museum a fair bit, but as I am in queens it's a drive, and it gets exhausting.

We wind up spending the majority of our time in our small house, and I think we are all going stir crazy. I am wondering what other SAHMs do in the winter? Need ideas. Thanks!

I hear you. I have to get out.

I take dd to my gym a couple of times a week. It's unlimited classes so I feel like it's a great value.

Library classes when they have them, which isn't often
Dd is in school twice a week for two hours in the morning
Play dates
Lunches
Errands

Do you have friends in the area with kids your kids age? Maybe join a mom group on meetup

Winter stinks. Once it warms up you can hit the parks and go for walks at least.

When we're stuck inside we do play dough, bake, paint, do stamps or stickers. When we don't get out it's definitely a long day! I try to get her to help with simple chores like sorting and putting away laundry, emptying the dishwasher, etc.thankfully she still thinks it's fun!

We do a lot of library classes and usually stay after to play in the children's area to make the shorter classes worth while. We also do classes at the Suffolk County farm which run year round. I know that doesn't help you in Queens but definitely think outside the box bc there are probably more classes than you would realize and not everything is that expensive. Check our aquariums, sports places, art places. So many have toddler activities and many do a free trial class too

Thanks for the response and suggestions!. I tried putting mine in a 2 year old program but one is developmentally delayed and the teachers felt he wasn't ready. I tried keeping the other two in the program but the logistics were too tough. unfortunately none of my mommy friends live anywhere near us, and many of them have their kids enrolled in school so aren't available for play dates. My neighborhood isn't very friendly at all, either. I don't think the towns in Queens have that real "neighborhood" feel like they do in Nassau. We are looking to move but it won't be for years. There are some classes around but even the ones that seem inexpensive become expensive x,s 3.Feeling very stuck until they start school in oh, 7 months :/ but I do appreciate the suggestions and will keep looking :) maybe some structured play time at home is a good idea instead of the chaotic free for all we have now :)

Maybe check out groupon and livingsocial for good deals and new ideas. They always have kids stuff. And I've heard there are some great meetup groups for moms. I'm sure it's intimidating to try anything new with three and one who's delayed but what's the worst than can happen.

I'm not a SAHM but I know the days I am home, they go stir crazy. My friend told me she gets her kids out every day, it doesn't matter for what. She took them to the bank and post office and since they were good, took them to McDonald's and they killed 2 hours in the play area.

But she said other days sometimes it's going to Target or the dry cleaner, she went to carter's and couldn't get them to leave from the kids little lego play table in there so she let them play while she made up a grocery list. She said its nice sometimes bc she can go to the stores during the day when they're not as packed instead of me on the weekends doing my errands in mobs.

Hang in there. Winter is tough.

I live in queens and was a sahm to 2 for 6 years. We went to

OLBS drop in play

Hall of science was free i think friday morning. Stay in preschool area

museum of art/panorama is a small donation (quiet at certain times in week to walk around)

LICM

play dates with other moms

barnes and noble

Weds ny botanical garden was free

membership for zoos and aquarium

some book stores have weekly mommy and me book reading clubs
we went to the mall alot lol....just to walk around and get out of he house.
