I decided to post here instead of pregnancy since most people who have completed their 2nd or more pregnancy are on here

If you showed earlier w/ DC #2, did it also translate into higher weight gain?

I'm 10 weeks preggo with my 2nd and I feel so bloated and puffy already. I didn't have a real bump until like 16 weeks on my first go round and ultimately gained 30 lbs. Im hoping this pregnancy will be similar but I'm afraid I'm going to gain more since I feel like I wil be showing sooner.

How did it work for you?

I'm 18 weeks so I can't give a complete answer,but I did show earlier this pregnancy. So far I haven't gained as much as I did in my first, but who knows how the rest will go. I don't think I the two correlate tho.

I can't compare on weight gain from my first pregnancy to my second because my first was a twin pregnancy. For my first pregnancy it was about 15 or 16 weeks before I had a real little baby bump. I didn't start getting big util about 18 weeks. With my second pregnancy I started showing around 8 weeks. I was in maternity clothes full time by 10 weeks. I think in general you tend to show earlier with your second pregnancy. And as far as weights in goes, I think each pregnancy is different. I gained all my weight in the end of my second trimester with my second pregnancy.

I definitely showed much sooner the second time around. I gained 48lbs the first time, 52lbs the second.

I showed earlier & so far am ahead of last time as far as weight gain by a few pounds.

I showed way earlier with the second one, and at almost 35 weeks now my weight gain is significantly higher than my first already! Dr thinks I'm retains a lot more water.

I'm pretty sure showing earlier for #2, 3, etc. has to do with the fact that your body had been stretched out already for #1 and not so much on weight gain. I didn't gain anything with #1 and didn't show until around 23w but I'm 10w with #2 and already have a bit of a bump.

I showed earlier with each pregnancy (I have 3). I gained the most weight with my second.

ETA: My second was also my biggest baby of the 3.

I didn't show at all with my first that was 18 years ago. I've showed early in subsequent pregnancies and really popped this pregnancy. I'm 12 weeks but look 20 weeks.

I definitely showed earlier this pregnancy than my last but I have gained less so far.

I was a whale with DS2!!!! With DS1, I gained 20lbs total, but looked 7 months pregnant at 9months. I had so much energy and felt great. With DS2, I looked 9 months pregnant at 5 months and was huge and uncomfortable and everyone kept asking if I was having twins...I gained 12lbs with him. DS1 was 9lbs at birth. DS2 was 9lbs3oz at birth.

So, even though I was much bigger with DS2, I gained less weight!!!!

I started showing around 14 weeks now. Not til at least 22/24 with my twins. At 18 weeks I still haven't gained anything. I only gained 18 with the twins though.

I'm 23 weeks with my 2nd. I showed much earlier this pregnancy, but so far I've gained less than at the same point in my first pregnancy.

Showed earlier and do far gained a little more. Up 20 pounds at 26 weeks. Was hoping to gain less this time but not looking likely. Also not exercising with this one either. No time or energy

I showed earlier with baby #2, but gained 8 lbs less.

showed earlier and am about 5 lbs ahead of where I was at the same place (~39 weeks). but, I had GD last time and was on a restricted diet, so that was a factor too.

I showed much sooner because it was twins. With DD I gained 60lbs, with the twins I only gained 40. I was much more careful the second time around and I also had GD at the end so I was definitely eating better.

I showed much sooner with #2 and I have already gained 20 lbs at 20 weeks. I gained 25 with DS 1 so I'm hoping this slows down. I feel like a bloated whale.

I definitely showed earlier with DC 2 and I ended up HUGE. But I gained more with DC 1 and he was bigger. I gained 40 pounds with DC1 and 35 with DC2.

I felt like i started to show at 9 weeks with this pregnancy.... but I was up more lbs at this point with my first than I am now.

No, I gained a little less with #2. #1 was a girl, #2 was a boy, if you believe the old wive's tales.

no, not at all. i was able to hide #2 pregnancy because i didnt gain weight anywhere. my belly grew much quicker but i can hide that. with #1(and2) i gained weight everywhere and couldnt hide.

I showed earlier, well, honestly I still looked pregnant after DS1 even when I wasn't! But I gained less with DS2.
