What type of cheese for 10 month old?
My DS is 10 months and already exhibiting some picky eating habits. We are trying to try new things with him and the ped suggested cheese. My husband and I aren't big cheese eaters so when I was at Trader Joe's, I was completely stumped as to what type to give him as I saw skim milk listed as an ingredient in the individual sticks. Babies aren't supposed to have skim milk, right? So what type should we have him try?

I give DD Horizon's Organic American Cheese.
Are you doing finger foods or is the food pureed?

I started with cottage cheese and fresh mozzarella. They are both soft and you can typically find whole milk variations of.

Babies can have skim milk as an ingredient. Whole milk is better though for the fats.
I also did cottage cheese and cheese sticks cut up small

What type of cheese for 10 month old?
I tried cottage cheese but ds did not like it. DS is 9 months and has had mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese. He pretty much eats whatever we eat.

I gave my kids everything. Cheddar, mozzarella, swiss, american. They are both HUGE cheese eaters.........since they were babies.

It's not like skim milk will hurt them, but they are better off with whole milk.
I wouldn't get it at Trader Joe's. I find their cheese all gross.
I like regular block cheese- like cracker barrel, etc.
Mild cheddar would be fine, cut up small
Mozzarella is also a good choice

At that age we were doing cottage cheese, mild cheddar, shredded mozzarella, white american, and sometimes I would buy the nature's promise string cheese and cut that up too.
