Poop question
DS is 3 months old this Saturday and hasn't pooped since Friday night. He normally has at least 1 poop diaper per day. He's still having plenty of wet diapers, just like normal, and doesn't seem to be uncomfortable (no straining, no crying unusually, just as happy and smiley as always), he's also still eating fine and is just as hungry as ever. I know at this age they start slowing down and sometimes can go a few days without a poop, but at what point do I call the doctor? Only when he's uncomfortable? I don't want to be a worry wart mom and calling the doctor for something silly.

Poop question
Is he breastfed or formula fed? If he's BF, it's normal to go up 5-7 days without pooping. If he is not uncomfortable, I wouldn't worry about calling the doc for a while.

Re: Poop question
Is your DS formula fed or breastfed? I've read that they can go days without pooping if they are breastfed.

Thanks! That's what I thought. Yeah, he only gets 6oz of formula a day, the rest is BF/Pumped breast milk... and he gets an additional 24 oz at least. I just was surprised because he is usually such a good pooper!

Re: Poop question
I THINK as long as he's not acting uncomfortable and it's not more than a few days, you should be okay. I'm no help because DS has been a pooping champ since he was born, just now they're a bit more regulated to one a day that we're starting solids.

Poop question
DS was EBF and would go 5-14 days without a bowel movement. Around 2-3 months is when his pooping slowed down. As long as he's not uncomfortable. I wouldn't be concerned.

Poop question
Yeah, when I got home last night and changed his diaper, he went as I was changing him - which I'm glad about because it would not have been held in by the diaper. Thanks all! Now I know!
