I am traveling with my 10 month old son next month on Delta
I cannot find online anywhere the regulations about carrying powder formula do I take a closed container? do I pack it separately in the individual containers or bottles without water
I even tried calling Delta and they were no help, Looking for advise here prior to calling again

Re: traveling with Powdered formula and infant
I flew with 2 sealed containers on my carry-on.
I opened one in-flight to make a bottle.
We used less than one can, and on the way home flew home with the one full can and one half-empty can and had no issues. But I wanted to travel with sealed just in case they wanted to confiscate it (lol - I was terrified if they thought it was drugs!)
Also, side note: DD was actually on a prescription formula, bit we had sent via diapers.com a package to the hotel ahead of time with diapers, snacks, wipes, etc. to reduce what we had to schlep.

I found TSA to be extremely accommodating when I flew with DS and milk over the summer. Anything liquid (milk, water) they just tested. I think you would be ok with packing them how you would for a normal day out. Whatever is easiest for you. If you prefer to put the powder in bottles and buy water once through security you can do that.
I flew with milk, water, juice boxes. Took extra long to get everything tested but I was there super early for my flight so I was prepared

I have carried both a closed package and a formula separator full of formula and had no issues.
You can bring water in the bottles if you want - I usually purchased water after security (one less heavy thing to carry - and my bottles tended to leak on me...)
