Where does your LO go when you need to shower or anything else when you cant keep an eye on them? Currently using the exersaucer but kind of feel like hes too big for it.....

I can only say what I used to do with my sister when she was that age (ds is only 2 & 1/2 months now), but I would have her play in the bathroom with a toy and keep the shower curtain ajar so I could watch her... She was good and would sit on the floor on a towel. But with DS what I will do is just switch with DH like we do now.

Re: 15 mo old

I try to only shower when DH is home or when she is napping...even in the bathroom DD (18 mo) gets herself into trouble...she opens and closes the toilet, takes things out of the cabinets, tries to climb into the shower in her clothes. If I have to shower when she is awake and there is no one to keep an eye on her, I usually bring her in with me.

I only showered when she was sleeping at that age. I used to let her play in the bathroom but that was about the age she slipped leaning on the tub and chipped a tooth. I either shower while she napped or before I took her out of the crib in the morning. By two I was able to just let her play while I showered and she'd come in and out of the bathroom.

I would have him play outside the door and I would keep the door open. From 2 on he would play and I would tell him if he needed anything to come get me.

Re: 15 mo old

Well, typically I shower before he wakes up in the morning - like, on workdays. But, on the weekends I do try and sleep in and since he sometimes sleeps until 7-8am, I don't want to wake up at 6am just to shower.

So, I either wait until his morning nap and do it then. Or, I put him in his crib with some toys. Or, I put him in his highchair with some toys or something to drink and play with. Or, I put him in his PNP with some toys. Or, I put him in his little chair (like a high chair) and I put Baby Einstein or Sesame Street on for him. Some kind of combo of the above.

Re: 15 mo old

My DS is around that age (17 months) and there is no way I could shower without DH being home. DS freaks out if we try to restrain him in anything especially if he can't see us. And he's too into everything to be able to just play, even in the bathroom with me right there... he'd literally be playing in the toilet if I didn't stop him lol, or he'd probably be trying to climb into the shower with me. Luckily DH is always home when I need to shower so it's never been an issue. If he's not, I wait.

This is what my sister does with my niece who is 17 months. She's been doing it since she was under a year old.

I shower either before dd gets up, mostly nap time or in the evening when dh is home or dd is sleeping.
