I really feel as Americans we need to be educated more about the war and the job these men and women do for us....incredible.

I agree with this. I thought the movie was great, yes it wasn't action packed the whole time but it really makes you think. There was a part of the movie where he says something about people busy worrying about their cell phone and other bs at home while they are over there going through he!! for us (definately not the actual words). It has really gotten me thinking how true it is. They are true heroes and it is so incredibly sad how his life came to an end.

It's so true.

I watched some of Chris Kyle's interviews after I saw the movie because I wanted more of his point of view.

It's SO refreshing.

And it's sobering - he's right when he says, people for the most part live in a dream world. They don't realize what horrors people are living in around the world, what their awful governments do to them (the good ones), and how evil some others are... and war, people in general - not all - but in general don't understand the reality and the horror of war. They don't realize the sacrifice. Even me, I think I realize it MOSTLY but I'll never fully understand it all. It's too enormous.

I try to be a good person. I try to focus on what really matters. I try to appreciate every single one of our service members.

I cringe to think about what life would be like for me and those I love if we didn't have the freedoms we do in this country. What if I was born over there? What if that was my son the butcher was drilling into in the middle of the street??

I can't thank God enough for my life here and I can't thank the service members enough for the freedoms I enjoy.

We're going to see it tonight. I cant wait!

For those who haven't seen it yet, Lone Survivor, which is also based on a true story was an AMAZING movie and probably as about realistic as you can get. Incredibly emotional, but fantastic movie.

I want to see Lone Survivor but, haven't been able to bring myself to it yet. Marcus Luttrell was the guest speaker at a conference I was at last year and it was very moving.

Be prepared for a lot of intense action and very very sad moments. His story and the story of the men he served with is just incredible. The sacrifices they made for each other, for the sake of the mission, and the VERY difficult decisions they made that got them into the situation they were in is just something that most people cant begin to comprehend. And the ending was literally heart-wrenching. BUT if you can bring yourself to see it, its such an amazing movie. Mark Wahlberg did an outstanding job portraying Marcus. What I loved most about the movie is that Marcus Luttrell was there during the filming to make sure it was as "real" and as accurate as possible. You wont regret watching it!!

Marcus Luttrell is actually in the movie very briefly, in the beginning when they are all at the table outside talking - he is one of the guys sitting there.

Lone Survivor was one of the best. We had to stop the movie half way thru because I was so distraught and I needed a break. I wasn't right for a few days afterward... but a great movie that tells a very important story of a hometown hero.

I do plan to see American Sniper.
