Experience w care.com
We used sittercity.com which is similar and found a great nanny after about 4 months. It did take a few trials with other nannies to finally settle on the one we have and so far she has been great. Our son is 19 months and adores her. We also have cameras linked to our iphones and check in a lot. She knows about the cameras fyi.
The bad is that it will take time to find someone you like. The good is that you will eventually find someone.

Re: Experience w care.com
My sister used care.com to find her nanny. She did go through a few interviews until she found her nanny, so far she has been with them for 2.5 years and she loves her.

Re: Experience w care.com
We used Care.com to find our nanny and she's been with us for a year and a half.
she started when my first was 4 months old and now we have a 3 month old and she watches both.
when I first posted on care.com I was skeptical but we interviewed 5 people. all of them were actually great but the person we chose was the obvious right choice for us. she had great references which also helped make our decision.
she has been fantastic! my DD loves her! I just spent 3 months home on maternity leave with her there helping with the two kids so I got to see first hand how great she is with both kids.
if you have any other questions about using care.com let me know! I think we may have just been lucky to hit it off with the first person we hired, but you can definitely find someone great through that site.

Thank you, i am on it now and searching, we dont need a nanny per say, its more of a sitter so my husband and i can get out once in a while.
How do you go about interviewing? or selecting who you think it the correct one?
sorry if this sounds silly

I would speak to them on the phone first to see if I got a good feeling and to make sure we were a match in terms of hours, salary, location, etc. then I invited them over and I just had a conversation with them about their experience with babysitting and their background. really just getting to know them. I didn't have a list of formal questions.
I chose her based on my gut. I really got a great feeling and after I spoke to her references that just sealed the deal for me.
