Kindergarten hours?
I'm not in Nassau, I'm in in south Huntington. But my dd is kindergarten from 8:20-2:30 I believe.
But the bus comes at 7:50 and she is home between 3-3:15

I am in Suffolk but my DD was picked up at 9 and got off the bus at 3:50. I believe the school hrs are technically 9:25 to 3:25.

my dd gets picked up at 9 and gets off the bus at 4:15. I believe the actual hours are 9:35- 3:45

we're in the levittown district 5 (Lee Road School) and school is from 9:30-3:30. bus comes at 9. they have before care and after care ends at 6.

I'm in Suffolk - DS's school hours for kindergarten are 9:15 - 3:15.

Kindergarten hours?
It's amazing to me to see such a difference in the length of time kids are school. It should be a universal policy that kids are in school xx amount of time. I see 5, 6 hours, then I see 7 hours. An hour or two makes a HUGE difference IMO. I'm surprised this isn't a universal thing.

I am surprised too...I thought in NYS all kindergarten kids would be getting about 7 hours - to be honest I personally feels its too long - I would be on board for a 5 hour day for my 5 year old. We are in suffolk and he goes 8.20 to 3.10 - 5 year olds have same length of school day as 14 year olds!!! what gives?

Aside from half day kindergarten, I've never heard of them having a shorter day than the other grade levels. The length just seems to vary based on district

I'm in Island Trees and it's 9am-3:20pm. DS is last stop on the bus, he gets on at 8:45am and off about 3:50pm.

Kindergarten is 8:30-220. Our 1st grade is a bit longer (3:05).

In Baldwin and not sure about public school hours since my DC always went to parochial school (st Chris) and that's from 8:40-3 and they have early morning and afterschool if needed.
