playgroup - seperation class
My DS currently stays at home with a babysitter. I would like to get him involved in a playgroup so he can interact with other kids. There is a very well known in home group that runs separation classes starting at 18 months. Two classes a week run $250 a month (each class is 2 hours). Does this sound like a good price? Right now i have him in a Kidville class (45 min class) and it seems to work out to be just a little more money per class for the in home group -- but the major difference is my sitter stays with him at Kidville and at the in home group she would drop him off. The other difference is Kidville is 45 mins and the drop off class is 2 hrs. Im thinking this drop off class is a good deal, and a good way to socialize at an early age. Most preschools wont accept kids until they are 2. Do you think he is too young for this group and I should stick with Kidville? Do you think this is a good price? Thanks for any insight!

Re: playgroup - seperation class
I did a very simple separation class as part of gymboree for 15 minutes once a week with both kids. It was fine. It started later though (around 2.5-3).
IMO, don't stress the separation class.
Kids at 1.5 don't really play together either way (they will play side by side).
If you are still paying the babysitter, factor that in.

Maybe ill consider once a week for the first month and then go from there

I think it's s lot to spend when you're already paying a sitter. He's still young and is already used to being away from you which I would think is more the point of a separation class. Have you looked into having the sitter tale him to library classes? There are a few nannies I've gotten to know well from library classes and we even get together for playdates.
