Places to take a child for a day trip to the city
I won tickets to see the Gazillion Bubble show in the city for Sunday. So we are taking my almost 5 year old! So excited as this will be the 1st trip that she will remember since she was too little to remember tha last time. Besides FAO schwartz and Toys r us, anyone know where else to take her? Oh and any kid friendly places to have either breakfast or lunch.

You are going to LOVE the Bubble show. We all had a blast. It was amazing! We went to FAO for a bit. And then we walked through Central Park (it was warm when we went). For lunch we went to Patsy's Pizzeria. My kids love pizza so this was great and the pizza was so yummy. We later when to Dylan's Candy Bar for dessert. We had a great day in the city. Have fun!!!

5 year old girl...take her to American girl for lunch. It is pretty reasonable ($24) and fun to walk around.
My kids like the natural history museum, metropolitan museum (esp the mummies, costumes, armour, degas' ballet dancer paintings etc), Central Park zoo if it is not too cold.

Re: Places to take a child for a day trip to the city
I'm taking my almost 5 yr old on Sunday too for a different show. My plan (since it's going to be cold) is TRU, lunch at Ellen's Stardust Diner and then the show. Maybe somewhere for dessert after the show. I don't want to go too far from Times Square because of the cold and being in and out of subways/cabs. Which sucks because there's really nothing great in Times Square lol
