Wanting to take a nap mid-afternoon

What do you guys do when the need to take a nap takes over? I'm at work and I'm fighting so hard to keep my eyes open. Trying to stay busy with my work tasks but its not working.

Re: Wanting to take a nap mid-afternoon

I get up and walk around. I have my mid-afternoon habit of a walk downstairs for a decaf tea and a small piece of candy for some sugar. I inevitably have to walk into a coworkers office to really shake the sleepiness.

I've instructed my assistant to check on me periodically if I'm in my office through the afternoon and she doesn't see or hear me periodically. Chat Icon

Wanting to take a nap mid-afternoon

My first trimester I was usually alone in a store, so I had to be alert and active. I just tried to keep busy so I would stay awake. Second trimester I didn't get the nap need to often, but its starting to re-appear now.

Wanting to take a nap mid-afternoon

I would get up and walk around. Also, I always take a late lunch, so I would nap in my car for 15-20 minutes. It didn't hurt that we had a lot of no office hour days in my first trimester where the doctor was away and I was able to sneak off for 30 minutes of nap time on the acupuncture table.

During the first tri, I actually put my head down on my desk a few times here and there. Just for a few minutes.

Re: Wanting to take a nap mid-afternoon

Thanks ladies! I'm going to try to take a later lunch today and take a walk. Hopefully that will help.
