Traveling Art Ideas
We're going away next month. I am usually really good with ideas for busy work for the plane and some nights in the hotel room. Just want some other ideas the boys would love. They are 5 and 3. My 5 year old LOVES art. We already have -
mini Ipads (games and some movies on it) Letter magnet board for my 5 year old to work on sentences since he's missing school washable crayons and markers in plastic bin for plane lots of coloring paper coloring books (they like making their own stuff, but I bring anyway) sticker books (tons of stickers at AC Moore) sticker and coloring book combos
Any other ideas you've used or seen? I have the invisible ink pads, but they only last a few mins. In the hotel my IL's bring playdoh and some other stuff. Plus, they're happy on the beach all day. Mainly looking for airplane activities.

Tape art. Kids usually love playing with tape on the plane. I see it a lot.
What about those scratch art papers? All they need is the paper and a toothpick or other type of stick and underneath is the rainbow of colors. They can make all sorts of designs. Might be messy though, not sure how much scratches off. Haven't used it in 10+ years.
Do you have an aquadoodle or a magnadoodle? or an etch a sketch?
Add colored pencils to the markers and crayons and give them a 3rd option!

I'm a big fan of tangoes. They're like little magnetic puzzles. Older DS tries to figure them out the right way, younger DS uses the guide on the back. You can order them on amazon.

Aquadoodle .. made my life so much easier. They use water as 'paint' and it dries to 'erase' and they do it over and over.
ETA: I didn't show it to her or even talk about it until we were ON the plane and other options failed. So it was a last resort. Making it special and she wanted it again on land. I said its for the airplane so it was something for her to look forward to..
