Specialty cakes at Dortoni's?
Anyone had their shower cake made at Dortoni's? I have a special design in mind and their website has a lot of great examples, but it mostly seems to be fondant, which is not what I want. Any experience with them? Any other suggestions for bakeries? TIA!

Specialty cakes at Dortoni's?
I used them for our grooms cake in 2010. The cake was amazing, they can do whatever you want. We still go there for baked goods. I may use them for DS baptism cake I haven't decided yet.

Try Sammie bakes...she just made my DS 3rd birthday cake. It was so much better than any bakery cake I had.

Specialty cakes at Dortoni's?
My family gets all our "special" cakes from them. Our wedding cake, multiple big birthday cakes, we did a giant dewars bottle for my dads 60th which was amazing, my shower cake. They are definitely pricey but personally I think it's worth it. The cakes are always gorgeous and fresh.

I used them for a baby shower cake last week. Got a ton of compliments on it. They have a whole list of flavors, fillings, and frostings. We did a chocolate buttercream frosting and it was delicious. Although, I asked for balloons as a decoration - they did green and yellow balloons out of buttercream too - and they were ridiculously bad. We all had a good laugh over them and enjoyed how delicious the cake was. So maybe ask for the embellishments out of fondant instead?

Oh, and I just remembered: I got my own baby shower cake in 2011 from Cardenalli's in Syosset and YUMMMM. It was amazing, and it was almost too pretty to eat. Not that expensive either (neither was the Dortoni's to be honest). I live 5 minutes from Dortoni's but drove to Syosset for my cake.
