Gasping breaths hours after crying?
My 2.5 year old son had a mini meltdown where he was crying hysterically for about 20 minutes straight when I left him with my Neice to run a quick errand. I didn't see it but when I got home I immediately took him and soothed him while he let out those typical post-cry shaky, gaspy breaths. Nearly 2 hours later, after being completely calm and playing and smiling the whole time, he is still occasionally letting out those gaspy breaths. It's a little startling because he has been completely fine. I don't want to bother my ped since I am pretty certain this has to just be from the crying, but it's a little disconcerting...do any of your kids take this long to completely calm down after a crying fit?

My son used to do that. He would be sobbing, calm down, and 20-30 minutes later he would have that gasping (my parents called them alley-ups or something like that). Scared the crap out of his daycare once.
