birthday party questions (timing)
DD will be 3 in a couple weeks and I am having a party for her at Abigail Bottoms in Patchogue, this is the first time I am throwing a party for her little friends I just don't know what time to start the party, it is on a Saturday. I was thinking 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks.

I have a dd that just turned 3. She still naps between 12:30 - 2:30. So that time I wouldnt be able to make. I, personally, would do eairler or a little later for that age

I agree. While I wouldn't keep my DS home for a nap I do think that is a typical nap time.
I personally love when his friends have parties that end at 12 or 1230. Cause we go home and its nap time and then we have the rest of the day.

Thanks. This is the feedback I am looking for. This is all new to me.

Re: birthday party questions (timing)
I agree with the others while I would have never kept DD home from a place cause it was her nap time I would have preferred the timing to be after or before. with that said everyone naps at a different time of the day; I personally would base it on my DC schedule. I wouldn't want the party time when I know they nap at cause I wouldn't want to risk them being a mess at their own bday party.

I would base it on when you think your dd will be at her best, either before or after her typical nap time. I agree with a previous poster that morning events are great bc then dd can come home and take a nap after. But late afternoon things work out well for her too. I think many kids at that age still take midday naps so mid afternoon times might be tricky for a lot of parents, and you might end up with a lot of people not coming or showing up late.
