What to do with an infant?

I am going to be watching my nephew this week. He is almost 5 months. I would like to get him out of the house for a little bit on Tuesday. We will be in the mid- Suffolk area.

Thanks

At that age Julian loved anything involving the stroller Chat Icon stroller rides were his favorite - if the weather was nice, outside was ideal, but if it was inclement then I would take him to the mall and walk him in the stroller.

His favorite thing ever was the swing - still is!

And, especially around five/six months, he loved the first stage Gymboree music classes. They do the bubbles, Gymbo, the parachute, they sing, etc. He loved it! Everyone would sit in a circle with their little one. He was enthralled. I would say take him to one of them. Their website lists their locations - I know there is one in East Northport and another in Woodbury.

Dd is that age. Honestly? She's happy just running errands lol. I take her with me for anything I need to get done. I feel like with all the germs going around it's not the best time to go to those play places, and she has plenty of things to play with at home..

This is true - I mean, I mentioned some activities he enjoyed but just going from place to place at that age was fun for him - and spending some time at home, he did love that too. I guess it's just that you (OP) are spending time with your nephew so you want to "show him a good time" KWIM? I used to feel the same way when I watched my nephew - lets bring him to the Bronx Zoo! LOL I totally took my role as Aunt to another level :) Chat Icon

You can see if your library has any classes for his age. Otherwise maybie something like Barnes and Noble. Get yourself some coffee, browse, and check out the children's books with him.
