My almost 6 month old was exposed to the flu
My babysitter's 8 yo DS just tested positive for the flu. He did not have any symptoms till he woke up this morning complaining of a sore throat and had a low fever. My DS is at their house M-F all day long and there was no school yesterday so the 8yo was home all day with my son there. Anything I can do at this point? I have a call in to my ped to see what they say. We have a flight tonight and will be away for the long holiday weekend so I am worried about being away from our doctor. I EBF and had my flu shot so he is hopefully getting the antibodies from me but he was not scheduled to get the flu shot himself till the end of this month when he turns 6 months. Any advice or anything else I can do to make sure he stays healthy??

Re: My almost 6 month old was exposed to the flu
Agree with PP. all you can do is wait. Maybe some antibodies from your flu shot will be beneficial. I had the flu shot this year and got the flu. DD had only one of the two flu shots (which only prepped her immune system. She still had not received the second shot that actually contains any of the vaccine itself) She did not get the flu and we were sharing drinks until the morning I realized what I had. So you never know! Good Luck.
