You can take tylenol or advil(if not pregnant)cold or plain sudafed but I never did because the decongestant can affect milk supply. That being said maybe its just an old wives tale as again I've never tested the theory. I just used regular advil or tylenol and nasal saline for nose drops.

most meds are fine especially in moderation. call Infant Risk or check Lactmed app if you want to be 100%

I try not to take anything except Advil. I have an awful cold and have been drinking lots of fluids and gargling with salt water for my sore throat. I use the Lactmed website for guidance but most of the safe meds have not been extensively studied.

Cold medicine while BF'ing

I just suck it up and take nothing bc I don't want to affect my already low supply.

Thanks all. Talked to his pediatrician also, and basically got same advice - tea, rest, and if I really need to Tylenol or Advil. Going to try and not take much and see how it goes.
