firm or plush mattress for a toddler?
I know the reccomendation for a baby is firm, but someone recently told me a salesperson from sleepys said a toddler needs a plush mattress as soon as possible..... I'm very skeptical about this, and wondering if anyone knows the answer?
thinking of getting my 2 yr old a new mattress so DC #2 will have her firm crib mattress. But now i don't know what to do.

I'd go in between for a toddler. Support is still good, but there is no more suffocation hazard so they might as well be cozy!

Re: firm or plush mattress for a toddler?
we just ordered a firm mattress for our 3 y/o. I want her to have support, but its not like its as hard as the infant mattress. I tested them out and picked one that was firm but still comfy.

PLUSH. She HATED HATED HATED her crib mattress because it was firm. We put a mattress cover on it to soften it up as an infant. Once she was over a year, we put blankets under her to soften it up more. She slept on no less than three blankets/quilts. When she got her full size it is very soft and so damned comfy that *I* want it. She sleeps like a champ!

Firm-- from what I understand the support is better for their back (not 100% sure but I think I heard that).
