Santa Breakfast at the Carlyle - Review
I really wanted to love this but was so disappointed. We were the first seating at 9a last Sunday (12/7).
First, they had no Christmas tree! Seriously?! I was so bummed and that was the first disappointment. It was just so poorly run and so disorganized. We were the first seating and still had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table which was ridiculous since it was a reservation and you only sat with your own party. Then it took a while to get a highchair, service was super slow.
The food was good. It was a brunch buffet with lunch items too. There was a Santa that you could take pictures with. DD is only 16 mos so she's petrified of Santa so we took a family picture. The absolute worst part of the breakfast was the length it took to get the photo back. The photographer they used would do print outs and set them out on tables in the lobby. Well, we took the photo at the end of the breakfast because we didn't want to wait on line. Half an hour after the breakfast ended and the next seating took place, we still didn't have the photo!! She was completely overwhelmed and I don't think had any real help. The Carlyle deflected by saying she wasn't with them. Well you hired her! Finally, there was a group of us left and we had to go to a back room to look on her computer to find our photo so she could print it. I was so upset at that point. I literally started tearing up.
It was chaos. Add to that all the people that came in for the next seating, kids running around, and we had already been there for a while with DD and we just wanted to get her out of there! This poor family that came in for the next seating, 4 adults with 5 kids, waited over half an hour to be seated! Again, with reservations and a table to yourself. We also noticed they were decorating the tables with poinsettias for the second seating. I guess they forgot to do it for ours.
Ok, thanks for letting me vent. On the bright side, DD is too little to care or notice and we got some really fun pictures of her. It cost a decent amount and just wanted to let others know our experience.
