Would I seem cheap?
This is DD's first year in daycare and I don't know what the proper protocol is here.  I was thinking about giving each one of the directors (2) a box of holiday chocolate as a gift. Would I seem like a total cheapo? Should I add a $10 DD giftcard with it as well? I know it's not a something to stress over, but I don't want to give too little.

We didn't give the director anything last year and do not plan on giving him anything this year either. I only gave my sons teachers a gift

I did a mug with hot cocoa mix and a banana bread cake mix with spatula for the director. I see her everyday and shes just so sweet and friendly. She has helped to make this the most wonderful experience for my daughter and I which means a lot to me.

Don't stress! When I worked in. A daycare most people only gave their child's teachers and assistants. The directors are not the ones caring directly for your child day in a day out! I think that gift is more than enough!

I don't give a gift to the director.
Only to her teacher.
I pay a TON of money for her to go there, the only people who are getting gifts are her teachers.

i think a box of chocolates sounds like a perfect gift. no need to add anything more. i gave a starbucks gift card to the director of my DDs preschool because i see her every day at drop off and pick up and she's very nice. but its so annoying trying to figure out what to do and whats appropriate..

I think you give what you can afford. I don't think any gift is cheap. I think any gift should be appreciated.
